The Trapani Salt Pans, a Sicilian Treasure
At the westernmost tip of Sicily, between Trapani and Marsala, lies one of the most singular landscapes of the Mediterranean: the salt pans. These shallow basins, shaped by centuries of craft, capture seawater and let it evaporate slowly under the Sicilian sun. Sea salt flakes form at the surface only during warm, calm weather, harvested by hand in summer by the salt workers with extreme care. The result is a fine, light salt with delicate crystals, naturally rich in magnesium and trace minerals.
The GILDA Line: The Chef's Standard
Chef Alexandre Campa wanted to offer under the GILDA by Restaurant Roberto brand the products he himself uses in the kitchen. This Trapani sea salt is packaged in a small 50g glass jar, practical to use and respectful of the product. A finishing salt, to be added at the last moment to preserve all its aromas and texture.
